Barbara E. Collier

Barbara E. Collier, age 88, passed away Thursday July 27, 2017 at Ebeid Hospice Residence. The daughter of Alexander and Olive Paterson, she was born June 11, 1929 in Vandergrift, PA. After graduation, she began to work for Hornes Department Store, in Pittsburgh, PA, as a buyer. She married Wilson L. Collier in 1951. They moved to Toledo in 1953. After raising her boys, she went back to work as a store manager for Hickory Farms in 1972. She then worked for Illonas Professional Tours. This provided her the opportunity to travel throughout the U.S. and Canada as an assistant. The highlight of her travel was her trip to Alaska which included a cruise. She was a member of Augsburg Lutheran Church where she played the piano and sang in the choir. She loved her four boys very much and was proud they were all college graduates. She is survived by her sons, Randy, Carl (Pam), Scott (Bethany) Collier; daughter-in-law, Suzie; grandchildren, Robert, Stefanie, Abby, Adam, Ashley, Brittany, Nicholas, Caden, Grace and Wilson; great grandchildren, Jake, Caley, Emily, Kenley and Noah. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Wilson; son Todd; brother, Joe; sister, Joanne. Friends may visit the family on Monday from 3-8 PM at Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave (West of Corey Rd). Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Augsburg Lutheran Church 1342 W. Sylvania Ave Toledo, OH 43612. Memorials may be given to St. Francis de Sales High School 2323 Bancroft Toledo, OH 43607 or Augsburg Lutheran Church. The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to all the nurses, staff and doctors who were involved with Barbaras care over the last year.
