Barbara Kay Clark, age 65, of Sylvania passed away Friday, Aug. 17, 2018 at The Lakes of Sylvania, where she has been a resident for the past 18 months. She was born on June 10, 1953 in Toledo to William H. and Caroline L. (Catchpole) Clark. She graduated from Whitmer High School in 1971. After the death of her mother due to cancer, she began working at The American Cancer Society as a volunteer and later as a full-time employee. This past June, she retired from ACS after 43 years there. Barb was born with cerebral palsy and faced many difficulties throughout her life, but always managed to have a positive outlook and a smile on her face. She formed many friendships over the years. She is survived by her brother Jim (Lynn) Clark and niece Kimberly Clark. Barb was preceded in death by her parents. Barb would like to thank all of her friends and caregivers at The Lakes of Sylvania for providing companionship and support over the past year and a half, and especially during the last couple of months of her illness. She will miss playing cards and laughing with her special friends there. There will be visitation for Barb on Friday from 5 pm to 8 pm in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 25, 2018. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Promedica Hospice, American Cancer Society or the charity of donors choice.
