Barbara Darlene Brown, 88, of Genoa, OH passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 10, 1934 in Toledo, OH to George and Marvel (Lynn) Taylor.
Barbara was employed by Star & Lil’s for 14 years, retired from Genoa Schools, and was co-owner Genoa Pizza & Subs with her husband Jack and sidekicks, sister-in-law, Pat and brother-in-law, Earl. She was an advocate for Parkinson’s Disease, created hundreds of awesome Easter baskets for the Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunts for many years, as well as for her family and special friends. She had quite a collection of Coca-Cola collectibles. Barb enjoyed hosting family Sunday dinner at 214 Main St., Genoa with awesome family recipes, as well as an occasional capful of Kessler’s and Coke. Barbara was well loved and always enjoyed giving and getting hugs.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Jack, children, Paulette Lipstraw, Cindy Streight, Kim (Ken) Harsanje, Pam (Terry) Mapes, Paul “Buck” (Marie), Tippey, Jr., step-sons, Dave (Sue) Brown and Alan (Traci) Brown, 20 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, sister, Joyce Carpenter, and sister-in-law, Elaine Taylor Tolliver. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Paul Tippey, Sr., son-in-laws, Mark Lipstraw and Mel Streight, brother, George Taylor, and granddaughter, Katie Shaneck.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 2, 2023 from 2-8 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, OH. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Dawn Balduf 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 3, 2023 at St. John United Church of Christ, 1213 Washington St., Genoa, OH with additional visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at church. Interment will follow the services in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa, OH. Memorial contributions in memory of Barbara may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Promedica Hospice, St. John United Church of Christ, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
