Barbara Sue Betz

Barbara Sue Betz, 70, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was born in Toledo on August 11, 1940, to Louis and Yvonne Bailey Schlegel. Barbara graduated from Mercy St. Vincent Nursing School as an R.N. in 1961 and worked for many years as a nurse in the community. She will be remembered for her kindness to all; support of those in need; defense of the needy and powerless; generous and selfless nature. Never judgemental, she accepted all as they were, understanding their faults and loving them nonetheless. She loved and treated all with her giving, aiding all if they but breathed a word of need. Surviving are her children, daughter Susan Betz, son Andrew Betz, and daughter Amy Kobiako; her grandchildren, Jasmine, Maya, and Dylan Betz, and Nathanial, Caitlin, and Noah Betz; and her brother, Paul Schlegel. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Monday, December 13th at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio 43537. Gathering will be at 10:30 am and service at 11 am. The family requests that donations be made in Barbaras memory and sent to Cherry Street Mission, 105 17th Street, Toledo, Ohio 43604.
