Schnee Barbara Ann Barbara Ann Schnee, age 70, was ushered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Friday, Feb.6, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family. The daughter of Melvin and Edna Whitaker, she was born Aug. 4, 1938 in Toledo. She attended McKinley Elementary School and was a 1956 graduate of Devilbiss High School. While working at Churchills Market on Central Ave. in 1955, she met Leo Schnee and they married on Oct. 12, 1957. Barbs life was dedicated to the Lord. While a member of Sylvania Alliance Church, she was the choir director and pianist. She was a member of Westgate Chapel where she participated in the choir, taught Sunday School, and mentored for the Mothers of Preschoolers. For over 25 years she led bible studies in her home. Barb also was the Toledo Director for Women of Grace Ministry, a volunteer for the Pregnancy Center of Toledo and a guest speaker at various womens retreats. She loved music, dancing, and playing the piano. She also enjoyed crafts, reading Christian literature, euchre tournaments with family and friends, and participating in the Red Hat Society. Barb loved her family deeply and cherished the summer vacation at Lake James in Angola, IN with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband, Leo; children, Laurie Wales of Orlando, FL, Leo Steven Vicki Schnee of Houston, TX, Terri Bade of Toledo, OH, Jodi James Avaritt of Toledo, OH, Katie Tim Castor of Oregon, OH; 15 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Frank Folger of Toledo, OH, Shirley Biscotti of Fairfield, CA; and brother, Roy Mary Pat of Troutdale, OR. She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter Aimee Nicole Stone. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday Feb. 11, 2009 at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd from 5-8 PM. A memorial service will be held Thursday at Westgate Chapel at 11:30 AM.
