B. Eileen Eileen Herman

March 10, 1921 — July 12, 2011

Eileen Herman, 90, of Toledo passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Swan Creek Care Center. She was born in Marion, Ohio on March 10, 1921 to Paul and Goldie A. (Lenon) Hochstetter and was married September 7, 1947 in Moline, Ohio to Wade W. Herman. Eileen worked for Lamson’s Department Store as a cashier for five years retiring in 1973. She was a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church and Friends of the Library. She is survived by her sons, David A. Herman of Toledo, Toby (Pat) Herman of Perrysburg and Bruce W. Herman of Whitehouse; grandchildren, Zachary C. (Annalise) Herman, Eli D. (Maggie) Herman, Gerald W. Herman and Lisa M. Herman and sister, Janet (Vernon) Goyer. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Wayne M. Hochstetter. A memorial service celebrating Eileen’s life will be held at Swan Creek Care Center at 4 P.M., Sunday, July 17, 2011 with Rev. Myron Kottke and Chaplain William W. Barnard Jr., officiating. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 18, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Fort Meigs Union Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Swan Creek Life Care Fund, Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Friends of the Library c/o Toledo Public Library. Arrangements were handled by Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg (419-874-3133). Condolences may be made directly to the family by visiting www.witzlershankfuneralhome.com.
