Avis A. Witker, 95, of Genoa, died Sunday, November 18, 2012, at the Genoa Retirement Village. Avis was born August 2, 1917, in Woodville, Ohio, to Emery H. and Johanna Betzler Rudes. On July 31, 1941, in Napoleon, Ohio, she married Walter W. Tiny Witker and he preceded her in death on December 24, 1988. She worked as a cashier and meat wrapper for the former Lathams grocery store in Genoa retiring in 1979 and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Elmore. Her survivors include her nephews, Keith Hamen of Sylvania and James Rudes of Millbury, nieces, KayAnn Lowell of Bowling Green and Sharlee Vincent of Millbury. Avis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, William W. Witker, brothers, Delbert Rudes and Emery H. Rudes, Jr., and sister-in-law, Helen Hamen. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 412 Fremont St., Elmore, with interment to follow in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa.
