Aurelia Marie Mensing

Aurelia Marie Mensing, age 88, a resident of Whitehouse Country Manor, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2007. She was born April 15, 1919, to Dale and Mary Gilpin. A graduate of DeVilbiss High School, she married Harold F. Mensing on July 27, 1964, and he passed away in October of 2006. She and her late husband enjoyed taking motor trips and truly enjoyed boating, fishing in Florida and Lake Erie and cooking game dinners for many friends. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and baking cookies. Marie was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sandy Holtz; brother, Giles Gilpin and an infant brother. Surviving are nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey, on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. with prayers at the funeral home followed by a funeral mass at St. Josephs Catholic Church on Locust St. in Toledo.
