Audru A. Zimmerman

Audru A. Zimmerman, 80, of Walbridge, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Audru was born on June 22, 1938 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Robert U. and Mary Jane (Eidson) Fleck. Audru was a graduate of Libbey High School and married James H. Zimmerman on August 31, 1957. He preceded her in death in 1994. Audru was a homemaker for most of her life. She served as a den mother, a room mother and was active in the PTO at Hopewell School. After raising her children, she worked as a bookkeeper and medical assistant. Audru enjoyed music and was a former member of the Eileen Stacey Singers. She enjoyed cooking, painting ceramics, and sewing. Her greatest passion was camping, and she did so throughout her life until her health would no longer allow her to do so. Left to cherish her memory, are her sons, Mark (Rachel) Zimmerman and Kevin Zimmerman; her daughter and special son-in-law, Shari and Bill Barnes; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James; brother, Robert Fleck; and two granddaughters. Friends will be received on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main St. Walbridge, OH 43465 (419-666-3121). Visitation will continue in the funeral home on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, 13200 S. Dixie Hwy, Lasalle, MI 48145. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
