On May 8, 2011, after a long and difficult illness, Audie B. Carlock passed away. Born in Monroe County, Kentucky in 1928, Audie moved to the Toledo area in 1948. His career as an operating engineer began with the construction of the Ohio Turnpike and would come to span four decades. As the owner of Carlock Incorporated Construction Company, he undertook such notable projects as Willowbend, Three Meadows, and Oakmont in Perrysburg, as well as The Hamlet on the banks of the Maumee River. Audie took great pride in the several antique cars he restored and was awarded many blue ribbons and first-place trophies for his skill and effort. He was a proud member of the Chevy Antique Car Club. Audie was preceded in death by his son, Joseph C. Carlock, his father Carlos Carlock, his mother Beulah Hausmann, and his stepfather Edwin W. Hausmann. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Kitty Crabtree Carlock, his daughter Pamela Kinney, son-in-law Donald, and his grandchildren Christina and Donald, Jr. Friends are encouraged to visit the family on Thursday at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home at 501 Conant Street from 2 to 9 p.m. Services will be held on Friday at 1:30 p.m. Audies interment will be at the Lake Township Cemetery on Walbridge Road, Millbury, Ohio.
