Athlene Susie Windom

Athlene “Susie” Windom, age 91, of Walbridge, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 in her home. Susie was born in Cairo, West Virginia on February 25, 1926. Susie married her beloved husband James Windom who preceded her in death. She was owner of Susie’s Skillet Restaurant in the heart of Walbridge and also owned the Walbridge Nite Club since 1960. Susie was known to all as a kind hearted individual who helped those in need. She will be deeply missed by the entire Walbridge community. Susie was preceded in death by her husband, James; long-time friend, Robert F. Adler; and mother, Myrl Burrows. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved friend, Mike (Heather Socie) Adler, whom she thought of as a son; many friends from the community of Walbridge, special niece, Terry, and many other nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at the International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery, Cairo, West Virginia on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 1:00 PM. Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Walbridge, Ohio are being entrusted with arrangements.
