Arthur M. Young

Arthur M. Young, 64, of Elmore, Ohio, passed away Tuesday evening, March 22, 2011, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, after a courageous battle with Parkinsons disease. He was born September 7, 1946, in Toledo, Ohio, to Arthur E. and Helen M. Hall Young. After graduating from Oak Harbor High School in 1964, Art completed his education as a Carpenter Journeyman. He drew plans, designed and built many homes and apartments in Toledo including his own home and other family members. He spent his later years working for Sun Refinery. He worked in the carpenter shop and served as safety steward. Many of Arts interests included hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting. He was an active member of Elliston Zion United Methodist Church, where he held many positions and helped to build whatever the church needed. Art was a loving husband, father and grandfather with a good sense of humor. He loved writing poems and wrote many for his family. He will be dearly missed. Art leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 42 years, Patricia Gregg, children, Alicia Douglass Moyer, Patrick Jillian Young, Alison Nicholas Jakutowicz and Joshua Jayme Lacumsky; grandchildren, Ashlynne, Pia, Brett, Caileigh, Denna, Elijah and Zac Moyer, Lil Patrick, Ava and Cooper Young, Alexandria, Rebekah, Gregory and Jonathan Jakutowicz, and Madilynn Lacumsky. He is also survived by his brother, LeRoy Wilhelmine Young and sister, Dorothy Young. His parents preceded him in death. Family and friends may visit 2-8 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2011, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Zion United Methodist Church, Elliston, with interment to follow in Elliston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials for Art to Zion United Methodist Church, Elliston, for construction of the shelter house and playground equipment, or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551.
