Arthur W. Red Parsons

Arthur W. “Red” Parsons, age 96, of Temperance, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. He was born on September 15, 1922 in Mandale, Ohio to Charles and Esther (Krise) Parsons. Red was a 1941 graduate of Montgomery Township High School in Wayne, Ohio and served in the United States Air Force during WWII. He worked for the Burroughs Corporation for over 40 years before retiring in 1985. Red enjoyed golfing, fishing and gardening well into his 90s. He loved spending time in Ocean City, Maryland, fishing and visiting with best friend Heath He is survived by his daughter, Denise Parsons; grandchildren, Michael (Katie) Wesley and Justin (Rachel) Wesley; great grandchildren, Myles, Leo, Nathan and Juliana Wesley; brother, Rex Parsons; sisters, Helen Fast and Lois Bockbrader. Red is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Lou (Mattimore); daughter and son-in law, Claudia (Daryl)Hole; siblings, Edgar and Orval Parsons and favorite niece, Diane Mattimore Olson. Memorial services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Aldergate United Methodist Church, 4030 Douglas Road, Toledo, Ohio 43613. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Lucas County Humane Society. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, Rossford, Ohio.
