Arthur Ray Graham, age 90 of Maumee, OH passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Arthur was born in a farm house in Maumee, OH on January 24, 1924 to Roy Elmer and Gertrude Estelle Moore Graham. He married LaQuetta Rose Freeman on August 11, 1951 and shared 41 years together. Arthur owned and operated Valley Trucking Company, Maumee for 32 years until his retirement. Arthur was an Army Veteran of WWII, 4th Armored Division of 3rd Army under the command of General George Patton. He also fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of Hope United Methodist Church, Whitehouse, OH where he also did maintenance; VFW Post 11115, Fallen Timbers Battlefield Commission, Alzheimers Association and the 4th Armored Division Association. Arthur enjoyed woodworking which resulted in many fine pieces of furniture, reading, history, bird watching, raising mallard ducks and traveling with his family. Arthur also volunteered at Meals on Wheels and Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Surviving is his children, Amy Steve Wilwohl Graham, Mona Jim Tomaszewski, Leslie Kathleen Graham, Lindsay Kathy Graham; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister, Alice Kille and brother in-law, Vic Gressler. In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his wife, LaQuetta Rose Freeman and Phyllis Burns whom he later married; siblings and their spouses, Ruth Edmund Spreng, Edith Chester Spencer, Helen Roy Dunbar, Grace Owen Wilder, Roy Jr. Bud Rosemary Farthing, Mildred Midge Richard Weis and Robert Alice Lucy. Also preceding him in death were 5 nephews, 3 nieces and 2 nephew in-laws. Family and friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 2:00-7:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will begin immediately following visitation at 7:00 PM. Interment with full military honors will be held Thursday April 10, 2014 at 11:00 am at Swan Creek Cemetery, Monclova, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
