Arnold M. Retzlaff, age 90, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. He was born October 31, 1930, in Freeport, IL to the late Rudolph and Mildred (Keppen) Retzlaff. Arnold served in the United States Navy from 1950-54. He worked for Chrysler/Jeep for more than 27 years, retiring in 1988. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling, camping, western style square dancing and woodworking. He was artistic with a perfectionist attention to detail and will also be remembered for his kind, loyal and authentic personality. Surviving is his son, Tim (Catherine) Retzlaff; daughter-in-law, Karen Retzlaff; sister-in-law, Peggy Daugherty; grandchildren, Laurie (Rob) McClellan, Ryan, Rob (Blythe), Tim (Jillian), and Kelsey (Courtney) Retzlaff, Angela St. John, Rebecca Fountain, and Jeffrey Griffin; brother, Vernon (Kay) Retzlaff; and great grandchildren, Haleigh, Addison, Hayden, Rhys, Mila, Scarlette, Luka, Jameson, Aubree, Arianna, Alex, Conner, and Wyatt. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of over 61 years, Shirley in 2015; son, Bob; and sister, Leona Seidel. Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 22, 2021. Military honors by the United States Navy and interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in his name are suggested to Ebeid Hospice.
