Arnold Edwin Foss

Jul 1, 1936 — Sep 29, 2026

Arnold "Arnie" E. Foss, 90, of Elmore, Ohio, passed away tragically as the result of an automobile accident on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.

He was born on July 1, 1936, in Benton Township, Ottawa Co., Ohio to Fred and Mayme (Helle) Foss. Arnie graduated from Oak Harbor High School. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard, stationed at Ft. Knox, KY.

On April 23, 1966 in Port Clinton, Ohio, he married Donna Ohm, and she survives.

Arnie was a lifelong farmer and worked for more than 37 years with the U.A.W. Local #497 at Standard Products Co. in Port Clinton as a high-lift driver, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elmore and a longtime member and active participant in S.C.R.A.P. (Sandusky County Restorers of Antique Power).

Arnie was passionate about farming, and tractors in particular. He could often be found working on tractors, talking about tractors, or traveling to tractor shows. He was a hard worker and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Arnie did a great deal of custom combining for farmers who needed assistance, giving him the opportunity to help others while doing what he loved most-being on a tractor.

Arnie was always ready to talk about tractors, politics, or farming. He was a wonderful storyteller and always enjoyed a good game of cards.

In addition to his loving wife of 60 years, Donna, Arnie is survived by his son, Lester (Tina) Foss; grandchildren, Colin Foss and Amelia Foss; and brother, Charles "Chuck" Foss.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant grandson, Archer Foss; and siblings, Phylis Humphrey, Wilferd Foss, and Anna Mae Lenke.

Graveside services for Arnie will be conducted by Pastor Jaci Tiell at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Restlawn Memorial Park, 3665 Genoa Rd., Perrysburg, Ohio, in the mausoleum, with entombment to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elmore, Ohio.
