Arlo Russell Strole

Arlo Russell Strole, age 86, of Toledo, Ohio died Monday, October 26, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born in Crissey, Ohio on October 2, 1929 to Russell and Eva (DeLong) Strole. Arlo served his country in the United States Army during World War II and served in Korea just prior to the start of the Korean War. On July 26, 1977 he married Lois E. (Haefner) Tucholski and was employed as a Mill Wright with Meilink Steel Safe for 39 years before retiring in 1989. Following his retirement at Meilink Steel Safe, he worked for 5 years with Solar Con. Arlo was a member of the Holland American Legion Post #646 and he was a lifetime member of VFW Post #606. When he was younger he enjoyed fishing and building model airplanes. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Lois Strole; children, Mark R. (Monika) Strole, Terese (Jim) Gregory and Milo Eric Strole; step children, Barbara J. (Rod) Frey, Diane M. (John) Binder and John M. Tucholski; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson; sister, Verlia (Glen) Vogelsong; brother, Owen (Sandi) Strole. Arlo was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Eva; former wife, Barbara Falzone as well as his sister, Arlene Stull. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2:00-8:00 P.M. at Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway in Holland (419-865-8879) where funeral services will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. Those planning an expression of sympathy may do so to either Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to the Toledo Area Humane Society.
