Arlo R. Rieff, 79, of Oak Harbor, OH died Sunday, July 06, 2008 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton. He was born on February 12, 1929 in Genoa, OH to Henry C. and Edith W. Wittman Rieff. On July 30, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elmore, OH he married Carol Ann Kontak, and she survives. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served with the combat infantry during the Korean War. Arlo worked in the maintenance department for Uniroyal, Inc. in Port Clinton, OH for 25 years, retiring February 12, 1991. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, life member of the Oak Harbor VFW Post #8732, member of the John A. Fader American Legion Post #114 of Oak Harbor, North American Hunting Club, National Rifle Association, and the Oak Harbor Conservation Club. He also was an avid fisherman. Survivors include: his loving wife of almost 53 years, Carol Ann; son: Curt A. Wendy Rieff of Oak Harbor; daughter: Amy J. Rieff of Oak Harbor; 2 granddaughters: Karolanne and Kayellen; 1 step-granddaughter: Sarah; and brother: Gerald Rieff of Oak Harbor. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother: Eugene Rieff. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2008 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 9, 2008 from 2-8 p.m., with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor. Interment will be in Elliston Cemetery, Elliston, OH with full military graveside honors by the VFW Post #8732 of Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions may be given to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor or the Oak Harbor VFW Post #8732 Scholarship Fund.
