Arline M. Shipman of Toledo, OH, passed away on October 8, 2012, just hours before her 90th birthday, at Otterbein Skilled Nursing Center. Arline was born on October 9, 1922, in Richmond, VA, to Manford and Cecelia Rosencrantz. She graduated from DeVilbiss High School and for many years was a member of the DeVilbiss Girls who met monthly. Arline lived in Port Charlotte, FL for many years until returning to Toledo. She owned and operated the AADTA Driving School in the 50s and early 60s and was a longtime member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Arline enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Diana Ray Erickson of Sylvania Township, Carol Wayne Koppenhofer of Sylvania, and son, Michael Shirley Lauria of Sylvania. Left to cherish her memory 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Gladys Otte and brother, Charles Rosencrantz. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. Prayers will begin at 9:15 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane Toledo, OH 43623. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donors choice. Online condolences may be shared at walkerfuneralhomes.com.
