Arlene Harvey, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, in her home, surrounded by her family. Arlene completed her GED at Lourdes College, and later joined beauty school and became a cosmetologist. In her spare time, Arlene loved hosting holiday get togethers, painting, and spending time with her friends and family, especially her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed her time in retirement by going on cruises and traveling with her late husband, Paul. Some of her favorite trips were to the Bahamas and flying to Frisco, driving the pacific coast highway to Medford, Oregon, where Paul was from. She cherished the relaxation and sunshine down south at her home in Bonita Springs, Florida.
Arlene Harvey was born on November 11, 1938, in Toledo, the daughter of Virgil and Grace (Kegerize) Perkins. Arlene married Paul Harvey in 1960, and the two shared 50 beautiful years together before his passing on March 29, 2011. The two were true soulmates and their family finds peace knowing they are reunited again in heaven.
Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Sandra Vanetten, Carole (Doug) Howard, Melanie Hartford, and Janie Barnes; many special nieces and nephews; and her loving pets, who she treated like her own children, Andre, Gilley, and Fremont. Arlene is preceded by her parents; her sister, Marsha Eckel, and her stepson, Michael Harvey.
A private family memorial honoring the lives of Arlene and Paul, will be held at a later date.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Ohio Living Hospice and staff for the great care given to Arlene.
Memorial contributions can be made to a Humane Society of your choice.
