Arlene A. Carr

October 4, 1937 — March 31, 2025

Arlene Ann Carr, 87, of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 31, 2025, with her family and close friends by her side.

Born on October 4, 1937, in Fostoria, Ohio, she was the only child of Theodore and Rheta (Dible) Walters. Arlene grew up on a farm near Bettsville and graduated from Jackson Liberty High School in 1955. She went on to attend Tiffin University, where she met the love of her life, Charles Frederick Carr. The two married on October 21, 1956, and shared a wonderful life together until his passing on February 4, 2021.

Arlene furthered her education at Firelands Community College, earning an associate’s degree in computer science. However, her true passion was real estate. She began her career with Chapman Realty and later worked with Batdorff Realty, where she continued to help families find their homes. Before becoming a real estate agent, she held various positions, including roles at Everett Pontiac dealership in Port Clinton, Erie Army Depot, Plum Brook Station (NASA) in Sandusky, the Department of Agriculture, and the EPA.

In her free time, Arlene found joy in flower and vegetable gardening and had a love for cooking. She had a deep love for adventure and exploring the world. She especially cherished going on cruises to the Caribbean, feeling the ocean breeze and discovering new destinations. She also shared a passion for snow skiing with her beloved husband, creating countless memories gliding down the slopes together.

She is survived by her son, Dan Carr (Debora Ortega-Carr) of Bexley, Ohio; granddaughters, Rachel and Rebecca Carr; close friends, Rick and Tammy Klink; and her longtime real estate associate, Jim Hernandez. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 135 Adams Street, Port Clinton, Ohio, from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Warren Brown. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery. A light luncheon will be held immediately following the committal service at Trinity United Methodist Church Parish Hall.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Magruder Hospital for their unwavering care and compassion. An even more special thanks goes to Arlene’s dear friend and caregiver, Cheryl Edwards, whose love and support over many years meant so much.
