Born Ardis Rae Linn to James Lester and Berenice Boyd Linn in Holland, Ohio, Ardis Cullen, 98, of Waterville, passed peacefully Saturday December 9 at Hospice of NW Ohio, Perrysburg, with her family at her side. Ardis graduated from Monclova High School in 1937 and married Roland Cressy in 1940. They cared and raised as their daughter Linda Linn (deceased) and had two sons, David L. Cressy, Dalton NE (wife Denny deceased) and Jeffrey A. Cressy, Waterville, who has lived and cared for her in her home the past 13 years. Jeffrey has one daughter, Jessica (J.T. Paschel) of Phoenix AZ, and two sons, Caleb and Seth Cressy, now of Waterville. Their mother, Robin Hausfeld, also lives in Phoenix. Jessica has two daughters, Emma and Nora, whose recent arrival was much to the delight of their Great Grandma. Living in Waterville much of her adult life, Ardis worked as secretaries for John I. Carr Associates, the Shop of Siebert and Rimer Precision Casting, retiring from there in 1987. Roland Cressy passed away in 1986. In 1973 Ardis met and married Thomas Cullen. They both shared their love of music, dancing and years of enjoyment traveling until Tom’s death in 2001. A long time member of Waterville Methodist Church and choir for over 60 years and the Toledo Symphony Chorale for 15 years, Ardis was also an active member of the Profit and Pleasure Club, a square dance club and the Blue Belles, a line dancing group with which she performed at local events well into her 80’s. Following Tom’s death, Ardis was a volunteer caregiver at Hospice of NW Ohio for 11 years. Surviving are sister Jeanne L. Parker (Charles, deceased) of Maumee and brother James L. Linn (wife Laurie) of Sylvania and many nieces and nephews, including those born of predeceased siblings Allan B., Martin W. and John C. Linn. All have shared much love for their “Aunt Ardie” as have others in her extended family, including long time close friends Sue and Dick Hess and many others. The family owes much gratitude to special caregivers Katie Grindle, Nancy, the Per Diem nursing support staff and Megyn, as well as those who cared for her in Hospice of NW Ohio. Visitation will be at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee from 4-8 pm Wednesday, December 13, 2017. Services will be Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 11 am with interment to follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Waterville.
