Ardella U. Gibson

Ardella U. Gibson, 90, of Walbridge, OH passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at her home. She was born on December 31, 1927 to Redford R. and Ardella U. (Kleinschmidt) Kirkby in Fort Wayne, IN. Ardella was active in many community groups such as the American Business Women’s Association, Salvation Army Advisory Board and Women’s Auxiliary, Neighbor-hood Toledo Symphony Concerts, Cub & Girl Scouts, Christian Women’s Club, Wood County Parks, and Friends of the Walbridge Library. She is preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, John M. Gibson. Left to cherish her memory are her children, John Gibson (with wife Laura) and Michael Gibson; her beloved granddaughter, Katherine Gibson; and treasured sister Geraldine Tarzis. Ardella will be fondly remembered as a wonderful mother and for her big heart, leadership in the community, and zest for life. The family will receive friends at Northwood Church of God, 3375 Curtice Road, Northwood, OH on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 9:30 am until the start of funeral services at 11 am. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations should be directed to the Salvation Army, Walbridge Library, or Toledo East Women’s Connection.
