Anthony Matthew Tony Willis

Anthony Tony Matthew Willis, age 41, of Swanton, OH passed away at Hospice of Perrysburg on November 11, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Licia Suzanne Hartbarger Willis whom he married March 27, 1993 at St. Hedwigs Catholic Church in Toledo; son, Noah David Willis; daughter, Alyssa Jane Willis; parents, Roger and Marilyn Willis; sister, Monica Mark Kleparek; brother, Michael Janice Willis; niece and nephew, Alaina and Brad Kleparek, and loyal companion, Lilly. Tony was preceded in death by daughter, Mickayla Jane Willis Tony was a graduate of St. Joseph School, Maumee, Maumee High School and the University of Cincinnati where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree and was on the Rowing Team and member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He was employed by Transamerican Advertising from 1994-1999, Pfizer from 1999-2006, Smith Barney from 2006-2008 and mostly recently with Valassis. Tony ran marathons in Chicago 1989 and New York 1990 and was a board member of the Northwest Ohio American Cancer Society. The family would like to thank first and foremost Jesus Christ our Savior for our strength, courage and wisdom, our family, patron St. Joseph, Fr. Daniel Zak, Dr. P.K. Chaudhuri, the doctors, nurses and staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg for the exceptional care and friendship Tony received while a patient; Mark Burns, Buzz Crane, Mike Frame, Gene Brandon, Dan Anderson, Randy Whitehead, Barb Mock, Amy and Andy Weills, Dan and Jami Gibson, Andrea Chelminski and all her angels, Kay Newman, Linda Bartoc, Mike and Janice Willis, Kelly and Kevin Pawlicki, Jeff and Cyndi Miller and all other friends and past colleagues that supported us through this time. Friends and family may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee on Friday November 14, 2008 from 2-8 pm with the Rosary being recited at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will begin Saturday at 9:30 am followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Maumee. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Maumee.
