Anthony “Tony” Patrilla
July 20, 1973. March 21, 2024
Our oldest son, Anthony “Tony” Patrilla passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, March 21, 2024, in Worthington, Ohio. No more pain, Tony. No more sorrows. Tony was born July 20, 1973, in Toledo, Ohio. He began his education at St. Stephen’s Catholic Grade School, where he began his football career by playing for the Eastside Raiders. He went on to fulfill his dream at St. Francis de Sales High School. Once a Knight, Always a Knight! There he excelled in football and was also a 4-year varsity wrestler. Tony started the long tradition that his 3 younger brothers and his 2 nephews followed, and all went on to also graduate from St. Francis de Sales High School. After high school, he went to The Ohio State University and until his passing he was a true fan and one of OSU’s biggest fans. Go Bucks!
Tony was a hard worker, and no job was ever too big for him to tackle. He spent the last days of his time here on earth working for Scott Whitlock whom Tony admired and often would remark how Mr. Whitlock was just plain amazing and shared many stories of him. Tony also had started his own business P.G, LLC. Tony loved playing golf and spent a few hours every weekend working at the Safari Golf Club located at The Columbus Zoo.
In his free time, Tony enjoyed duck hunting. He also trained his former 4-legged companion Gunner, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, to be a successful hunter as well. Gunner will always have a special place in all our hearts, especially Tony’s.
Tony is survived by his parents, Ed and Beth Patrilla, siblings, Jennifer (Eddie) Bee, Andrew Patrilla, Brian Patrilla, Maria (Tony) Tkaczyk and Marty Patrilla. He also leaves behind his three nephews, Zachary and Ryan Bee and Dominic Tkaczyk who will miss their Uncle Tony dearly. Also leaves behind his bonus brother Ryan Lamy and many numerous friends, family, and coworkers. He is also survived by his wife, Jennifer.
