Annie Ruth Oxner, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Franciscan Care Center, Sylvania. The daughter of Richard and Alma (Stephens) Chatmon, she was born October 12, 1933 in Cartersville, Georgia. Annie was a member of Calvary Church, Maumee where she volunteered in the Café and participated in Heroes in Action. Annie was a very devoted Christian and loved the Lord, her church and family. Her faith was an example to those who knew her. Annie was employed with Champion Spark Plug Plant in Toledo for many years, before moving and retiring in 1993 from the Burlington Plant in Iowa. Annie enjoyed listening to gospel music, croqueting, bowling, fishing, baking, roller skating and watching WWF. Annie liked to travel and attend family reunions. She was a fantastic baker, making most of her goodies from scratch. Annie was very young at heart, who always lived, loved, and laughed. Her sense of humor will be missed. Annie was truly happiest when she was babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Annie is survived by her daughters, Debrine Turner, Sadie Chatmon, Regina (John) King, Weta (Julius) Walker and Monica Oxner; son, Aron Oxner; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and a great- great-granddaughter; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Della Williams; sister, Ezell Turner, and brothers, Claude and Ralph Chatmon. Friends and family may visit on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 10a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. at Calvary Church, 1360 Conant Street, Maumee, OH 43537.
