Annie Jean Brumet age 86 of Toledo passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2012 in her home. She was born May 21, 1926 in Belfast, Northern Ireland to Harry and Annie Park. Jean was a war bride that came to the United States when she was 20 years old with a required written permission slip to marry from her parents. She met her husband, Charles in her native Ireland when he was on leave from the Armed Forces. She was a bridal consultant at LaSalles Department Store, downtown for many years. She was currently the Office Manager for the Doug Beat Company a position she held since 1988. A member of First Alliance Church, she was active in Child Evangelism and taught for Good News Clubs for 30 plus years. Jean was also a former Sunday School teacher at Salem E.U.B. and Berean Baptist Church. The widow of Charles L. Brumet, she is survived by her daughters Anne Ron Helsley and Sue Doug Beat; grandchildren Natalie Keith Parsons, Ryan and Robert Nicole Beat, and Jennifer and David Helsley; great-grandchildren Kurtis, Keenan and Kimberly Parsons and Alexander Beat; and brother James Park. Friends may visit at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey on Friday from 11 AM to 1 PM where services will be held at 1 PM. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
