Annette Marie Halka

Annette Marie (Langendorf) Halka, 72, of East Toledo died peacefully on November 18, 2016, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio (Detroit Avenue) surrounded by loved ones. Preceding her in death are her parents, Lynn and Lotus Langendorf. Surviving family members include her beloved sister, Suzanne Baldwin, her aunt, Gola Bitterman, daughter Jonette Steele (John), and son Eric Halka Sr. (Dawn.) Grandchildren who will miss her are Eric Halka Jr. (Amy), Andrew Halka, Tammy Marie (Koberstein) Futrell, and great-granddaughter Mazie Halka. Annette was lovingly cared for by her companion, Jeff Chambers and was greatly loved by nephews Steven, Paul, and Casey Conine and her niece Jody Conine. Great-nephews include Alex Stiles, Elliott Handwork Casey Conine, and Paul Conine Jr. Great-nieces include Christie Handwork and Mackenzie (Conine) Ahrendt (Jordan). Annette was also a great-great aunt to Mila Stiles and Vivian Ahrendt. Annette was often described by people as “the nicest person they’ve ever met.” She enjoyed collecting antiques and shopping at thrift shops as well as drawing, painting, and fishing. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hospice staff on Detroit Avenue for their compassionate care. Annette chose not to have any visitation services, but memorials may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
