Anne Tadrack Buck Nestor, daughter of John Tadrack of Benedikovce, Slovakia and Anna Chegin of Beloveza, Slovakia, passed away on December 16 in Concord, New Hampshire after a long illness. She was 98. Anne was born in 1915 in Marblehead, Ohio, and lived her life on the peninsula. She loved fishing, her church, and her home overlooking the lake and Cedar Point. After graduating from Lakeside High School as valedictorian in 1933, she attended Tiffin University for a year. She then married James Arthur Buck, son of Isaac N. and Hazel Scott Buck, dairy and fruit farmers, on October 1, 1934. Jim and Anne Buck opened a store at Snug Harbor, and later moved to Bucks Grocery on Bayshore Road. Anne tracked the business, letting Jim promote it to the community. After selling the store in 1972, Anne retired to a life of service to her church and community, serving as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Church Women United, and her beloved St. Marys Byzantine Catholic Church. She served there in many capacities, from catechism teacher to tour guide, accountant to Ladies Aid worker. Her Carpatho-Rusyn heritage was always of first importance and she continued to follow the traditions of the Rusyns to her last years. Jim Buck died in 1973, and in 1979 she married George Nestor. Anne is survived by her son, James Carlton Buck of Loudon, New Hampshire; her daughter, Rebecca Buck and husband James Reuter, of Somerset, New Jersey; three grandchildren. five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; her sister Helen Danchisen, many nephews and nieces; and stepchildren William and Sue Nestor and their families. Visitation will be 2-4pm, Sunday, December 22, 2013 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton, OH 43452. A Funeral Service will be conducted by Father Robert Kelly at 11:00AM, Monday, December 23, 2013 in the funeral home with visitation from 10am until time of service. Interment will be in Sackett Cemetery, Marblehead, OH. The family thanks everyone for the support and the many prayers that have been given for Anne, and asks that donations be made to St. Marys Byzantine Catholic Church in Marblehead, Ohio in lieu of flowers.
