Anne Marie Etue, age 78, passed away on April 2, 2024. She was born on September 15, 1945 to Edward and Anne (Savey) Heintschel. Anne Marie attended St. Louis Grade School and graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1963. On May 4, 1968, she married Tim Etue and together raised their family in Toledo and at their beloved Wamplers Lake home (Irish Hills, Michigan). Anne Marie was a stay-at-home Mom for ten years and then over thirty years she worked for the Diocese of Toledo. She was parish secretary at St. Catherine’s Parish and Corpus Christi Parish for fourteen years. She then pursued a degree in Religious Education at Lourdes University and worked as Director of Religious Education for almost twenty years at St. Pius X Parish, retiring in 2011. Anne Marie loved her summers at the lake “bobbing” on the pontoon and watching grandchildren learn to swim and “tube”. She most enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, celebrating birthdays and holidays as very special occasions.
Surviving are her children, Jennifer Menon, Tim, Jeffery and Amy (Mark) Hass. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Lauren (Evan) Jones, Sam (Sarah O’Neill), Nick (Angie Valerio) and Jack Etue, Matthew and Ryan Menon. Great-Grandchildren, Blaire and Tilly Jean Etue and Jack Michael Jones. Sister Barbara Nelson and sister-in-law, Joanne Heintschel; brothers, Edward (Sue Chapman) and Thomas (Marilyn) Heintschel and her forever friend, Nanette (Dave) Stark. Anne Marie was preceded in death by her loving husband and caregiver, Timothy, her parents, her sister Angela Petsche, brothers, Msgr. Donald, Richard and James Heintschel and her favorite aunt, Dorothy Seferian.
Anne Marie wished to thank her children, sister and forever friend, for their loving and generous help to her.
Visitation will be held at Maison Dardenne Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, from 3pm-8pm on Friday, April 5, 2024. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5373 Main Street, Sylvania and will be livestreamed through the church. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Louis Helping Hands, Hospice of Northwest Ohio or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
