Annabelle Long

Annabelle J. Long, age 81 of Maumee, Ohio died on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Browning Masonic Community. She was born in Maumee, Ohio on July 20, 1931 to Leon and Helen Tefft Swartz. Annabelle was a 1949 graduate of Maumee High School. She married the love of her life, Selwyn Shorty Long on October 6, 1951 and chose to raise her family in her hometown. They were very involved in the Maumee community where she was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Triune Chapter #344 and actively participated in the Maumee Little League since its foundation. Annabelle worked at Acklin Stamping, where she met Shorty, Maumee City Schools, Donaldson Ford, Once Upon A Child and Montgomery Ward. She enjoyed spending time on Round Lake in Michigan and travelling to Rhode Island to see her daughter and family. Annabelle loved going to bowling tournaments with Shorty and followed the Maumee Little League tournament teams for many years. Annabelle is survived by her son, Dennis Melanie; daughter, Nancy Tom Sullivan; son, Donald Buck Lisa; and sister, Eva Smith. She is also survived by the pride and joy of her life, grandchildren; Sean, Kaitlin and Colin Sullivan; Joseph, Emily and Patricia Long and future son-in-law, Eric Amell. Annabelle was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Dale Dee Swartz and nephew, Leon Smith. Friends and family may gather at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio on Sunday, July 14, 2013 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Eastern Star Service held at 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 15, 2013 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, 112 E. Wayne Street. Maumee, Ohio at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery.
