Ann M Kessler

October 30, 1932 — June 23, 2022

Ann M. Kessler (89) of Rossford, Ohio was lovingly shepherded by the heavenly angels to Everlasting life on June 23, 2022. Ann was born in Canton, Ohio on October 30, 1932, to Andrew Stoia and Florence (Naszodian) Tsormure.

Ann married her best friend and soul mate, Donald L Kessler in 1952 during his first furlough from the Air Force. Together they had four children. Ann served as a guiding light to her children, being their peacemaker, cheerleader, spiritual guide, and teacher of good manners. In addition to her unending volunteer work at her children’s schools, Ann had many part-time jobs: babysitter, working in grocery stores, tax consultant for H and R Block, secretary in a Catholic high school and administrative assistant in a Catholic college. Once Ann’s children were well on their way, she satisfied her entrepreneurial spirit as the owner of a Convenient Food Mart (1980), Hallmark Gift Shops in Tiffin and Defiance (1987), Ohio and Cabbages and Kings in Grand Rapids, Ohio (1995). She retired in May of 2007. Ann was a member of the Professional Women Organization in Adrian, Michigan, and the Grand Rapids Red Hat Society.

Ann is survived by her sons, Paul (Jane) Kessler and Mark (Rebecca) Kessler; daughters, Dr. Susan (Thomas) Gross and Dr. Nancy (Dan) Sturtz; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald L. Kessler; and sister, Florence (Richard) Luke.

Services for Ann were private, and she was laid to rest in Fort Meigs Union Cemetery, Perrysburg, Ohio.

Ann’s family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of Goerlich Memory Care Center and Sujkowski Walker Funeral Home, Rossford, Ohio, who helped to create beautiful memories of her final send-off.

In memory of Ann who asked for so little but gave so much, memorials may be given to Because of Logan (https://becauseoflogan.com). Logan’s life and spirit are being honored through the Because of Logan charity fund which focuses on swim safety awareness, education, training, and support of families who have endured a loss through childhood drowning.
