Anita Brecht

Anita Brecht, 67, of Mansfield and Port Clinton, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2026, at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky. She was born on August 16, 1959, in Port Clinton, Ohio, to the late Laben and Martha (Bass) Horn.

Anita attended school in Sandusky and later worked at Norwalk Furniture, where she took pride in making parts for furniture.

Anita was deeply devoted to her family, and although she could be a little ornery at times, her family knew how much she loved them. She had a special love for animals, and her beloved dog, Pal, whom she rescued, was her best friend and constant companion.

Anita enjoyed many of life's simple pleasures, including hunting, fishing, boating, and riding roller coasters at Cedar Point with her sister, Brenda. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her children, family, and loved ones.

She is survived by her children, Nicholas Brecht and Jessica Brecht; her siblings, Brenda (Buck Valle) Rollins, Stan Cutcher, and Derrick (Debborah) Horn; her significant other, Dennis Wadsworth; and many cousins, many nieces and nephews and also other extended family members, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded in death by her siblings, Dan Cutcher, Cathleen Bodnar, Mickey Bass, and Joseph Cutcher.

Memorial contributions may be made in Anita's honor to Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home to assist the family with final expenses.

Anita will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
