Angelica Velasquez

December 30, 1958 — February 2, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Angelica Velasquez, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left us on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the age of 66. Angelica was born on December 30, 1958, in Texas to Ines and Elvira (Uvalle) Salazar.

She earned an Associate of Arts degree, a milestone that filled her with pride, and she graduated alongside her lifelong best friend, Rose Luna. Angelica was a woman of strength, known for her outspoken nature and her unwavering ability to speak her mind. Her wit, humor, and intelligence made her a joy to be around, and she was especially proud of her children, always supporting them in every way.

Angelica found peace and comfort in simple pleasures: tending to her plants, watching TV, relaxing, and spending time with her beloved cat, Princess. She had a deep love for nature, and her warmth extended to all who knew her. As a member of the Oak Harbor Congregation of Jehovah's Witness, Angelica’s faith was a guiding force in her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Carlos Javier Tijerina. Angelica leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and strength through her children, Antonette Tijerina, Carlos Corona, Michael Velasquez, and Robert Velasquez. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Vanessa Ruiz, Alyssa Jade, Dominic Heredia, Damien Heredia, Alivia Jade, Clarissa Corona, Caylee Corona, Michelle Velasquez, Bella Velasquez, Sebastian Velasquez, Selena Velasquez, and Isabella Velasquez.

A private service will be held to honor Angelica’s memory. Angelica will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
