Some people quietly pass through life. Angela Ranee Hamilton never did.

Angie loved big, laughed often, and left a little sparkle wherever she went.

If you knew Angie, you knew she was fierce. Fierce in the way she loved, the way she protected, the way she fought for the people she cared about, and the way she faced every challenge life placed in front of her. She didn't just live-she lived boldly, passionately, and unapologetically.

Angela, affectionately known to many as "Buffy" and later "GiGi," passed peacefully on August 2, 2026, at the age of 55, surrounded by the family she loved more than anything.

Born on September 2, 1970, in Oregon, Ohio, to James and Katina (Poulos) Cook, Angie spent her life making people feel seen, welcomed, and loved. Whether she had known you for twenty years or twenty minutes, she had a way of making you feel like you belonged.

As the owner of NRGIE Salon & Spa and later GiGi's, Angie wasn't simply running businesses-she was creating gathering places. Her chair was more than a place for a haircut. It was where people laughed until they cried, shared life's biggest news, sought advice, and left feeling just a little more confident than when they walked in. She built two Rossford staples that reflected exactly who she was: warm, welcoming, full of life, and impossible to forget.

But if you asked Angie what her greatest accomplishment was, she wouldn't have mentioned her businesses. She would have told you it was her children, Jamie and Jacob. They were the center of her world and her proudest achievement.

Then came her favorite title of all-GiGi.

Her grandsons, Brooks and Parker, brought out a joy in her that words can't fully capture. Whether she was spoiling them, making memories, or simply soaking in every moment she could with them, being their GiGi was one of life's greatest blessings. She was eagerly awaiting the arrival of another precious grandson, who will forever know how deeply he was loved before he was even born.

Some of the best memories of Angie happened in the ordinary moments. Kitchen haircuts. Music turned up too loud while everyone danced around the house. Boogie-ing at the disco party like nobody was watching. Family gatherings filled with fun and laughter. Annual family vacations that became the stories and memories their family will treasure forever. Out-of-the-blue adventures with her best buddy, creating memories simply because life was meant to be lived. Trips to the casino where she could happily spend hours at the slot machines. She believed life was meant to be enjoyed, and she made sure the people around her enjoyed it too.

She had a laugh that filled a room, a strength that inspired those around her, and a heart that never stopped giving-even when life became difficult. She showed her family what resilience looked like and reminded them every day that love isn't just something you say-it's something you do.

Angela is survived by her best buddy and devoted husband of 33 years, Donald "Chic" Hamilton, Jr.; her beloved children, Jamie Surdell (Jake) and Jacob Hamilton (Haleigh); her cherished grandsons, Brooks Surdell, Parker Hamilton, and the newest member of the family she was already loving so deeply; her mother, Katina Cook; her brothers, Ron Cook (Kim) and Jim Cook; her mother-in-law, Nancy Hamilton; her brother-in-law, Mark Hamilton (Stephanie) and sister-in-law, Dawn Dybala (Joe); many nephews/nieces, great-nieces/nephews; her large extended family; her godchildren; dear friends including T, Jodi, and Brian; countless clients who became lifelong friends; and her beloved Yorkie-Poo, Cooper.

She was welcomed into eternal peace by her father, James Cook; her father-in-law, Donald Hamilton, Sr.; and her beloved grandmother, Evangeline Poulos.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home in Rossford, Ohio, with a service to immediately follow.

Angie's story doesn't end here. Her legacy lives on in the ordinary moments-in every dance move, every laugh shared, every act of kindness, and every memory made with the people she loved. It lives on in every kitchen dance party, every haircut given with love, every warm welcome, and every life made a little brighter because she was part of it. Her lasting memories will be carried forward by her family, her friends, and the countless people fortunate enough to know and love her.

She taught us that strength and softness can exist together. That family is everything. To always be unapologetically yourself. To Win the Day. That life is meant to be celebrated loudly. And that the fiercest love never truly leaves us-it simply lives on in those fortunate enough to have received it.
