Andrew Lajti

Lajti Andrew Andrew Lajti, age 69, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Firelands Hospital in Sandusky. Andrew was born in Pocspetri, Hungary on August 24, 1940 to Andras and Ilona Lajti. He came to the U.S. in 1958 and began a career in 1963 as a cabinet maker with Star Door and Sash retiring in 2008. He previously worked at Buckeye Brewery until they closed. Andrew was an avid hunter, logger, and fisherman and traveled each February to Key West, FL to fish with his friends. He was a talented woodworker and loved creating with wood. Andrew is survived by his wife, Bridget McManus Lajti; daughters, Roberta Hoffman, Diane Gerald Holman, and Donna Alt; stepdaughter, Robin Norbert Rausch; step-sons, Robert Kathy, Thomas Tammy, and John Kumi Stemen; sister, Jolan Istvan Rausch, and brothers, Ferenc and Peter all of Hungary; 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; special nephew, Norbert; and special friends, Wanda Lutheran and the Meredith Family. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 9-11:00am on Wednesday, January 6, 2009 at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 am. .
