Andrea J. Brady (nee Weeks) passed away on April 12th, 2024, at the age of 53 in Sylvania, Ohio, after her fight against glioblastoma. She was born on August 15, 1970, in Oahu, Hawaii.
She is survived by her husband, Patrick; her children, Samantha, Aaron, and Benjamin; two sisters, Jenny (Dan) Lowe and Amanda Weeks; and niece and nephew, Mallory and Myles Lowe. Andrea was preceded in death by her mother, Cynthia (nee Thalman) Tomlin, her father, Ferrell Weeks Jr., and her stepfather, Thomas (TT) Tomlin.
Andrea grew up with her mother and sister, Jenny, in Avon, Ohio. Living on Shakespeare Lane, they created many memories as a family and with those who lived in the apartment complex. Andrea graduated from Avon High School and went on to further her education at Bowling Green State University, studying education.
While at Bowling Green State University, Andrea met Patrick Brady during her freshman year of college. The two dated throughout college and eventually got married in August of 1996. Together, they had three children: Samantha, Aaron, and Benjamin, as well as three 4-legged children (Chester, Cheddar, and Stella).
Andrea was a beloved 4th-grade teacher at Lake Local Elementary School. She dedicated her life to shaping young minds and made a positive impact on her students throughout the years. Her favorite job, however, was being a mom. She loved supporting her kids at dance classes, sporting events, and band concerts. She treasured the times they would spend laughing together, having reading parties in her bed, or sitting together under an electric blanket.
In her free time, Andrea enjoyed baking, reading, singing in her church choir, and spending time with her family and friends. Known for her chocolate chip cookies, she was always one to show up to a gathering with a sweet treat. She was a dedicated member of Sylvania First United Methodist Church. Andrea was strong in her Christian faith and taught Sunday school and vacation bible school to children at her church.
Andrea was a kind, caring, compassionate person. She was always willing to help those around her, such as making meals for those in need or volunteering her time. She liked to describe herself as witty and always kept you laughing with her blunt observations and silliness. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and students who have known her through the years.
