Aman U Khan

Aman U Khan, 91, of Reno, Nevada passed away February 24, 2016, at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center. Born December 12, 1924, in India, to Abdul Rehman Khan and Shah Jehan Khan, he immigrated to the United States to complete his graduate education earning 4 degrees in engineering. Aman was one of the most studious men among his family, and attended Michigan State University to complete many of his degrees. He started his career at Toledo Scale Company in Toledo, Ohio and had several patents under his name. He settled in Saint Joseph on the shores of Lake Michigan and had a distinguished career at the Whirlpool Corporation in Benton Harbor, MI. Earlier in Aman’s life he loved riding horses, playing rugby and hunting in India. He had a passion for life, travel, history, gardening and family. Aman is preceded in death by his precious wife Molly Andrews Khan. He is survived by his children, Amber Lhamo, Laurel Khan, James Khan, Amy (Craig Schriber) Khan, and; step children Sarah Andrews, Elizabeth Andrews, Doug (Cynthia) Andrews, Mark (Karen) Andrews and Stephan (Diedre) Andrews; former spouse, Shirley Schultz Helle; brothers Amir (Shad) Khan, Nasr Khan, Habib (Beverly) Khan, Ahmad Khan, Azmet (Shahnaz) Khan, Shaukat (Malka) Khan, and Usman Khan; sister, Meena (Abdul) Khan; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 12:30 p.m., at the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo, 25877 Scheider Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551. Burial to follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, Toledo, Ohio. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg, Ohio. Condolences may be made online at witzlershank.com.
