Alvin E. Moritz

Alvin E. Moritz, 82, of Martin, Ohio died Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Lane Park Assisted Living & Memory Care, Oregon, Ohio, where he and his wife resided. He was born on August 29, 1935, the son of August F. and Sylvia (Everett) Moritz and on December 22, 1956 in Genoa, Ohio, he married Jo F. Dixon and she survives. Alvin had worked for Sun Oil and Refining, in Toledo for 29 years until his retirement in 1995. He was first and foremost a family man who loved spending time with them all. He especially loved taking care of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alvin believed in health and fitness and raised his sons with that same value which they hold today. In his free time he enjoyed woodworking, especially cabinet and finish carpentry, crafting and in later life, cooking. He also possessed a unique ability to fix anything, never afraid of learning something new. He and his wife were both members of Mainstreet Church in Walbridge, Ohio. Alvin is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jo, sons, Gary (Joy) Moritz, Steve Kreager, Don (Jennifer) Kreager, Ron (Karen) Kreager, 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and brother August (Charlene) Moritz, Jr.. He was preceded in death by his parents. There will be a memorial service for Alvin on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 5:30 p.m., preceded by visitation from 3:30 p.m. until the time of service at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio.
