Alvin R. Al Kyser, 81, of Whitehouse, OH passed away peacefully on October 26, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. He was born August 1, 1935 in Canton to the late Alvin and Marie (Carter) Kyser. He graduated from Boliver High School in 1953 and then married the love of his life, Patty (Snare) in June of 1962. Alvin worked in the retail industry his whole life. He was an employee at Josephs Department store in Fremont; Bedland Furniture in Toledo; general manager at Hefio Drapery in Toledo; district sales manager at JC Penny in Toledo; store manager at Woolworths in Wooster; and worked as a salesman at Bruce Walker Furniture for 10 years. In addition to his retail and sales talent, Al was also in the Ohio National Guard for 8 years. Living on Lake Erie for 30 years, one of Als favorite hobbies was water sports. He also enjoyed traveling, working in his yard and gardening. Al loved flowers and worked part time for both Bartz and Schramms Flower Shops. He and his wife would spend winters in Florida where they shared many memories. Alvin was preceded in death by his children, Scott and Kimberly Kyser; and a brother. He is survived by his wife, Patty; sisters, Jean Hummel and Sandy Cuenot; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A private graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery in Oak Harbor.
