Alvie J. Harris, 82, of Maumee, Ohio passed away on June 23, 2012 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. Alvie was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 28, 1930 to Clinton E. and Sylvia Hopkins Harris. He was a self employed carpenter for 25 years and then worked and retired from the Carpenters Local 1138. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of the Masonic Lodge #287, the Scottish Rite, and the Zenobia Shrine. Alvie enjoyed many hobbies including painting, hunting, and especially fishing where he loved to fish in the Maumee River. He also enjoyed taking yearly fishing trips with his sons. Alive is survived by his sons, James Nancy Foley, Robert Debbie, grandchildren, Doug, Andrea, Melissa, Jim, Rob, Carah, and Thomas, 11 great grandchildren, and brother Leroy Martha Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Joyce, and sons, William and Richard. Per the familys request services will be private. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Online condolences may be given at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
