Alvetta Betty Auxter, 72, of Bellevue, OH passed away Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the Bellevue Care Center, Bellevue, OH. She was born on August 19, 1938 in Port Clinton, OH to Harry Leroy & Jeannetta May Grimm Rose. She first married Gene A. Fisher in 1956 and then Carlyle L. Auxter in 1962. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton. Betty attended Port Clinton schools, but dropped out and returned to school and graduated in May 1998 at Van Guard. Betty was a homemaker but also did cashier work and sold Avon, Tupperware and Tri-chem. She was a life member of the Moose Lodge #1610. Betty was a member of the United Grandmothers of Ohio holding offices of 3rd Vice President and State Secretary for 8 years. Her local membership was with the Clyde Rosettes Chapter #31. She loved to do crafts, quilting and gardening. She even entered some of her items into the judging at the Fair, winning at different times. Survivors include, daughters, Rebecca L. Fisher and Sue M. Horvath both of Bellevue, son, Monty C. Auxter of North Canton, OH, granddaughter, Stephanie Jeremy Shoemaker Wyers of Washington, grandson, Michael Gene Reighard and great-granddaughter Pamela Reighard, both of Bellevue, and grandson, Jeremy Mindy Stokes and great granddaughters, Lily & Mady all of Greensprings, OH. She is also survived by cousins and her mothers other daughter Janet Lee Tewers and 2 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton with visitation 2 hours prior from 11 a.m. 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Christy Chapel Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorial contributions in memory of Betty can be given in care of the family.
