Altalee Mae Lewis

Altalee Mae Lewis, 87, of Millbury, Ohio died Friday evening, June 26, 2009 in her residence. She was born in Buffalo Community, Ashe County, NC on September 21, 1921 to Greene and Lucy Susan Treadway Bare. She married Wiley Joseph Lewis in Buffalo Community on December 24, 1936 and he preceded her in death on October 5, 1988. Altalee dearly loved her family, and they include daughters, Lois James Jay Baum, Lyda Pinkie Lewis, Naomi Wahab Al-Haroun, son, Michael Nijole Lewis, daughter-in-law, Pat Lewis, 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Benjamin Lewis, grandson, Kurt Walters, daughter-in-law, Pat Cochran Lewis, brothers, Donald and Spencer Bare, sisters, Mary Husky, Lena Hodgson, Collean Furches, Jean Harrison, Brucie Faye Bare, and half brother Arthur. A funeral service for Altalee will be conducted at 11 am, Tuesday, June 30, 2009 in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St, Genoa, OH. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday, June 29, 2009 from 2-9 pm. Interment will be at a later date in the Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury, OH. The family suggests memorials in Altalees name be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, OH.
