Alta Schmaus

Alta June (Micham) Schmaus, 97, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Ohio Living Swan Creek. Alta was born June 17, 1920 in Toledo, Ohio to Fred J. and Minnie (Warren) Micham. She married Alfred G. Schmaus on May 15, 1943 and he preceded her in death. Alta enjoyed crocheting and loved to read. Alta is survived by grandchildren, Bryan (Julie) Schmaus, Jennifer (Ryan) Phillips, Clint Schmaus and Ashley (Joseph) Hall; three great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Cindy Schmaus; one step-great grandchild and two step-great-great grandchildren. Along with her husband Alfred, she was preceded in death by her sons, Donald and James, daughter-in-law, Ginger and four brothers and three sisters. Friends will be received Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 3-8 P.M. at Neville-Shank Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Hwy, Holland, OH (419-865-8879) where funeral services will be Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 10 A.M. Burial will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Living Swan Creek Life Care Fund or Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice.
