Alma W Mueller

January 1, 1917 — November 2, 2015

Alma W. Mueller passed away on Monday, November 2, 2015. She was born January 1, 1917 in rural Rosebud Missouri a German Lutheran Community. She was the one of 9 children raised by her parents Herman and Lydia Wehmeyer. Alma attended school at St. Johns Lutheran in Drake Missouri. Following her graduation she was employed as a Domestic (Nanny) in St. Louis Missouri. She attended Miss Hickeys Business School. While there she met a young seminary student named Martin J. Mueller. They married in 1944. After Martins graduation from Seminary they moved to Elizabethton Tennessee where they started a mission church and taught Bible School to the families in Oak Ridge Tennessee where the United States was involved in a top secret project to make the first Atomic Bomb. Throughout their ministries they were Team Mueller sharing their missionary duties. The couple had three children Joel Mueller, Joyce Mueller Olman, and Dr. Wade Mueller. Their next moves were to Elizabethton Tennessee, Valparaiso University, and eventually Trinity Lutheran Church in Toledo. They moved to Maumee Ohio in 1950. In 1969 Martin Mueller passed away from what would later be known as Huntingtons disease. Amazingly while he was ill and bed ridden in a nursing home Alma had her three children in college at Valparaiso University in Indiana. Following her husbands death Alma reentered the workforce as a waitress at Howards Restaurant in Waterville Ohio. Later, she would become a Printer working for AP Parts of Toledo. Alma lived with Joyce and Lynn Olman for over 30 years until she moved into Assisted Living at the Lutheran Home at Wolf Creek in 2013. She had a special relationship with Wolf Creek having volunteered as the coordinator of the Card Club. Alma loved by everyone she met. Her favorite saying was in everything we do to God be the glory. A special thank you to the staff at Wolfe Creek, Hospice of Northwest Ohio and Right at Home Nursing for their wonderful care. Alma is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Lynn) Olman; son, Dr. Wade (Dr. Cathy Drexter) Mueller; grandchildren, Justin (Cari) Olman; Ryan (Kara) Olman; Trey (Kristin) Olman; Mike (Chris) Mueller and Ron Mueller; 9 great grandchildren and one on the way; and sister-in-law, Joann Mueller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin; son, Joel and 8 brothers and sisters.
