Alma Heger

On Monday, November 12, 2007 God called Alma Heger, age 80, back to Him after a short illness. She was born on February 4, 1927 in Romania and came to the United States from Germany in 1952 after being displaced by the war. Alma was a longtime employee of O.I. and a member of the German American Club. She at one time was very active knitting for children. Alma is survived by her daughters, Griseldis Dale Hanson and Regina Jack Waters; brother, Herman Christal of Germany; granddaughters, Karen Phil Fritts of Ottawa Hills and Michele Michael Flaten of Wisconsin; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Evan Aric and her close friend Gisela Vollmar of Toledo. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. west of Corey where services will be held on Friday at 10 AM followed by interment at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may take the form of a contribution to the Cherry Street Mission
