Alma Jean Hartman

Alma Jean Hartman, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at The Manor at Perrysburg. She was born in Toledo on August 4, 1929 to Cecil and Winifred Greene Pratt. Professionally, Alma was employed at Maumee High School as the principals secretary for many years, a career she really enjoyed. Alma was a longtime member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Maumee, where she served as the Sunday School Superintendant and most recently, a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Maumee. She was also a member of the Indian Hills Boat Club. Alma loved going to their cottage at Devils Lake; boating, gardening, golfing, ceramics, sewing and knitting. Alma especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dogs. She was an active volunteer and member of many organizations, among them were Meals on Wheels and St. Lukes Hospital. Alma was an award winning Maumee Garden Club member. Alma is survived by her daughters, Sherry Tom Dussel; Judy Jacobs; and Cindy Ziss; grandchildren, Corey Mark Ott, Tom Dussel, Mike Lacey Jacobs, Cody Jacobs, David Chelsea Ziss, Sam Ziss and Madchen Ziss; great-granddaughters, Allison Ott and Charlie Ziss. Also surviving are siblings, Chuck Evelyn Pratt, Sandra David Harrison and Steve Treza Pratt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Richard and brothers, Cecil and Ray. The family would like to thank St. Pauls Respite Care at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, Maumee; Hospice of Northwest Ohio and The Manor at Perrysburg for the exceptional care Alma received. A Celebration of Life for Alma will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, 310 Elizabeth St., Maumee, OH.
