Alma Duke

Alma Lee Duke was born October 1, 1928 in Montgomery, Alabama. She departed this life to sail on smoother seas May 11, 2023.

Alma was married on March 21, 1949 to William Louis Duke (deceased). In this noble union, they were blessed with three children; William Jr., Cynthia, and Yolonda.

She devoted her life to helping others. After receiving her bachelor’s degree from Mary Manse College in nursing, she began working at St. Vincent Hospital, where she retired after 33 years. Shortly after, she began working at Cherry Elementary where she received her tenure and retired. In addition, she assisted in Grandmother For a Child program for the Toledo Public Schools system.

Alma and William Sr. were the founding members of the Toledo Traveler Motor Home Club. In this, they traveled all over the United States on many adventures.

She is survived by her Daughter, Cynthia; Grandchildren, Michael (Cathy), Vertrice (Tramaine), Wesley (Khala), Tamon (Serretha), Tremain (Melissa), Ben Jr. (Marissa), Ryan Jr., and Shawn; Great-Grandchildren, Marissa (Juanie), Rebecca (Brandon), Kailyn, Michaela, Olivia, Shamisha, Trinity, Safiyah, Tyra, Kingston, Khaley, Victoria, Tyler, Kennedi, Tremane Jr., Tianie, Elijah, Josiah, Ryan Jr.; Great-Great-Grandchildren, Braden, Levi, Braylyn, Brandon Jr., Jeremiah, Kayden, Kazmir, Chanel, and Charm.
