Allyn J. Rollo

Allyn J. Rollo, 92, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Allyn was born July 27, 1925 in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from Woodward High School in 1943. He served our country in the United States Navy in WWII. Allyn married Ruth M. Facer on May 20, 1967 in Toledo, Ohio and she preceded him in death on December 9, 2015. Allyn was a longshoreman for CSX Railroad for 38 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Zoar Lutheran Church in Perrysburg and was a member of the Mended Hearts Program for 15 years. He and Ruth loved to travel around the world, especially on cruise ships. He is survived by his son, Mark (Pam) Madison and grandson’s, Jake and Luke Madison, whom he adored. Friends will be received Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 3-7 p.m. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133). Visitation will continue Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 10-11 a.m. at Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 E. Indiana Ave, Perrysburg, OH 43551 with funeral services beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Timothy P. Philabaum, officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Meigs Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Allyn’s name to Zoar Lutheran Church.
