ALLEN C. KAZMAIER Allen C. Kazmaier, 97, passed away Friday, October 2, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. Allen was born June 2, 1918 in Perrysburg, Ohio to Robert F. and Lulu (Schneider) Kazmaier. Allen served our country in the United States Navy in World War II as a B24 Pilot in the Pacific Theatre. Allen was stationed on the island of Tinian where he flew ten bombing missions. He married Patricia Fielding on October 9, 1999 in Illinois and she survives. Allen was the co-owner of Kazmaier’s Market with his brother, Robert, for 57 years, retiring in 1995. He was a lifelong member of Zoar Lutheran Church and the Perrysburg Post #28 American Legion. He was also a member of the Sanctuary Golf Club on Sanibel Island, where he was a member of the “Dew Sweepers”, and a lifetime member of Valleywood Golf Club. Allen shot two holes in one, both after the age of 80. He also was a member of the Jimmy Aiken Dinner Club at the Carranor Hunt & Polo Club for over 50 years. Allen was a founding member of the Associated Grocers of Northwest Ohio and a member of Associated Grocers of Michigan. Along with his wife, Patricia, Allen is survived by his children, Luann (Larry) Croy, Jean (Robert) Hilt, Allen C. Kazmaier, II., Amy (W. Christian) Brooks, and Mary (Robert) Sullivan; ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, sister, Eleanor Merrill; five step-children, twenty-three step-grandchildren and ten step-great grandchildren. Allen was preceded in death by his wives, Marcella and Nancy, an infant son, brother Robert and grandson Robert Hilt, Jr. Friends will be received Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 2-8 P.M. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) Visitation will continue Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 11 A.M. until the time of service at 12:00 P.M. at Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 E. Indiana Ave, Perrysburg, OH 43551; with Pastor Timothy P. Philabaum, officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Meigs Union Cemetery. The family would like to thank all the staff at Kingston and Perrysburg Hospice for their unconditional care and support.
